Revenue ₹1,86,612 crore · Capital ₹18.28 crore

What the money actually buys

Paid to fertiliser manufacturers and importers rather than to farmers directly: ₹1,03,320 crore to domestic urea producers, ₹21,000 crore to urea importers, and ₹52,810 crore for phosphatic and potassic fertilisers. The payment covers the gap between what the fertiliser costs to make or import and the controlled price farmers pay for it.
