What the money actually buys

Half of it is cash paid straight to farmers: ₹66,121 crore under PM-Kisan. Most of the rest lowers the cost of credit and insurance: ₹24,600 crore to agricultural lending institutions, ₹17,812 crore covering the interest banks forgo on concessional crop loans, and ₹14,473 crore towards crop insurance premiums.
