What the money actually buys

Running the armed forces rather than equipping them: pay, rations, fuel, spares and maintenance. The Army takes ₹1,98,026 crore of it, the Air Force ₹49,332 crore and the Navy ₹32,735 crore. Buying aircraft, ships and vehicles is a separate demand, and so are pensions.
